Ethics refers to a person’s understanding of right and wrong, influencing their actions, words, and belief systems. It is particularly relevant for those in positions of authority, such as religious leaders, cultural figures, politicians, and influencers. These individuals often position themselves as spokespersons for the divine, providing guidance on matters ranging from mundane issues to serious moral concerns.
However, some who assume these roles exploit their positions, becoming self-proclaimed mediators between people and the divine. They dictate religious rulings, shaping followers’ lives in various aspects, from personal choices to matters as grave as criminal punishments for perceived sins. Unfortunately, many of these figures lack moral integrity and often harbor desires for power, wealth, and control. Their hearts may be tainted with hatred and rage, and they frequently exhibit hypocrisy.
These individuals, driven by self-interest and lacking personal courage, manipulate the vulnerable by encouraging actions they themselves would never undertake. They may preach against the establishment while comfortably enjoying its benefits or foster animosity toward the West while residing within its borders. Such hypocritical figures, claiming authority on behalf of God without embodying the virtues they preach, deserve neither following nor respect.
In reality, no human is perfect, and ethical perfection remains an ongoing pursuit for all. Nevertheless, some, under the guise of religion or ideology, present themselves as flawless or divine. Their audacious claim to understand the mind of God and impose their beliefs on others is not only audacious but also tyrannical. Granting authority to those who assert their perfection, deny their flaws, and fail to live by their proclaimed principles is misguided.
Individuals who declare themselves perfect often internalize a conflict, leading to anger, hate, and a constant search for enemies. These individuals, who advocate for war but avoid personal involvement, represent the worst kind of hypocrisy. Their actions are reprehensible, and if there is a hell, they may find themselves among its earliest occupants. May we be spared from such a fate.
